Start using Silo
Silo is in active development before 1.0. These guides are updated frequently.
If someone has invited you to Silo, you need an app and their server address. They look after storing and sharing the media.
What to read first
Section titled “What to read first”Join an existing server
Section titled “Join an existing server”Start with Choose an app. It takes you on to signing in, choosing a profile, and playing your first title.
Run your own server
Section titled “Run your own server”Follow Install Silo Server. It covers the requirements, installation, your first account and library, and a playback test, so you can start there without reading the other server guides.
The walkthrough uses one Linux computer and a local media folder. If you’re still choosing hardware or how to deploy, see Requirements and installation options. Remote access, extra playback hardware, and integrations can come later.
Go further
Section titled “Go further”- Find something new with Home and Calendar, collections, and saved titles.
- Adjust subtitles, download for offline use, or control a TV from your phone or tablet.
- As an administrator, manage library access, fix metadata, or set up plugins.
